Situations we handle
We work on trees that are dead, uprooted, weakened or too close to a house. The space around the tree determines whether straight felling is possible or whether it needs to be dismantled. In Vieux-Boucau, for example, we removed a large uprooted pine lying across a garden.
Felling or dismantling
Where there is room, a tree is felled straight from the base. In a tight spot near a house, pool or power line, we dismantle it section by section on rope. Each piece can be lowered under control. With a storm-damaged or unstable tree, we adapt the work to its condition and surroundings.
After felling: work on the stump
Felling the tree and dealing with its stump are separate jobs. Grinding reduces the stump in place. Extraction removes the stump and part of its root system, with more impact on the surrounding ground. Full extraction is not included by default and needs to be considered separately.
For a stump-grinding quote, include the approximate stump diameter, photographs, access details and how you plan to use the ground afterwards. Send these with your quote request.
Process, safety and access
Before starting, we look at the tree, the access and everything nearby. The site is cordoned off and the work area secured. Available ground space and nearby houses, parking areas, pools or power lines determine how the work is organised.
Timber, branches and green waste
The quote states whether branches will be chipped, green waste removed and timber left on site. Stump grinding is listed separately, depending on the ground and what you need.
What affects the quote
The price depends first on the tree's size and condition, then on access and available ground space. Nearby obstacles and what needs to happen to the timber, branches and stump also matter. Photographs give us a first look, but a site visit may still be needed.

Does a dead tree always need to be felled?
It depends on the tree's condition and what surrounds it. We look at the situation before giving an answer.
Is the stump dealt with automatically?
No. Grinding is quoted separately. Full extraction needs to be considered specifically.
Can you quote from photographs?
Photographs help when sent with the town and access details; a site visit may still be necessary.
